About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a national physician group, is hiring an Internal Medicine Physician in Jackson, Mississippi, to provide wound care and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings. The role offers clinical autonomy, training in wound care procedures, and the opportunity to follow patients through healing. It is a no-call, weekday position with part-time and full-time schedules. Compensation for full-time work is listed as $250,000–$500,000 per year, with additional performance bonuses and no stated earnings cap for independent contractors. Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.
• No prior wound care or procedural experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
• Manage underlying conditions that affect wound healing.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
