About The Position
Dover Food Retail is seeking an Internal Communications Intern to assist with writing, editing, proofreading, and publishing content across communication channels, including email, newsletters, digital screens, social media, and the intranet. The intern will work under a manager who provides coaching, mentoring, and direction, and will have opportunities to strengthen communication skills while contributing to projects supporting DFR and other departments.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university and working toward a bachelor's degree in Communications or Journalism at a four-year college or university.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Provide three writing samples, such as news articles, blog posts, speeches, or research papers.
- Willingness to learn, be a team player, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
- Strong focus on producing high-quality work.
- Positive and proactive, with the ability to work independently.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Viva, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe and Photoshop.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, draft, and edit articles for each monthly DFR newsletter during the internship period.
- Write, edit, and distribute company news and broadcast emails.
- Create messaging and deliverables for assigned projects supporting other departments and the broader HR team, including announcements, PowerPoint presentations, and talking points.
- Assist in publishing content across channels such as email, newsletters, digital screens, social media, and the intranet.
