About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Internal Cloud Hyperconverged Infrastructure Virtualization Engineer for a hybrid (3 days onsite per week) position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for engineering the virtualization layer of the Internal Cloud Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) stack. The engineer will ensure the platform meets enterprise requirements for availability, performance, and resiliency, while enabling standardized, production-grade hosting for various workload types like virtual machines, grid compute, and container platforms.

Requirements

4-5 years of experience engineering or operating enterprise virtualization platforms in production environments
Strong hands-on experience with Linux workloads and infrastructure troubleshooting in virtualized environments
Familiarity with VMware virtualization concepts and hyperconverged infrastructure fundamentals
Experience supporting virtualization lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, and stability/performance triage
Proficiency with VMware ESX and VMware vSAN
Knowledge of networking principles

Nice To Haves

5-7+ years of experience supporting virtualization platforms at an enterprise scale
Experience operating virtualization platforms that support multiple workload domains (VMs, container platforms, grid/batch)
VMware certification (e.g., VCP) or equivalent experience
Experience working in regulated environments with formal change control and release governance expectations

Responsibilities

Engineer the virtualization layer of the Internal Cloud Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) stack
Ensure the virtualization layer meets enterprise requirements for availability, performance, resiliency, and operability
Own virtualization engineering patterns, platform configurations, and operational standards
Maintain the VMware-based virtualization platform, including lifecycle changes and upgrades
Validate the performance and resiliency behavior of the virtualization layer
Partner with automation and platform teams to ensure consistent delivery of virtualization capabilities
