About The Position

The Internal Audit Manager establishes and leads the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s internal audit function. The role evaluates the effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance controls, identifies opportunities to strengthen processes, and partners with leadership to promote accountability and continuous improvement. The manager develops the audit charter, methodology, working-paper standards, and quality practices; conducts an enterprise-wide risk assessment; and plans and executes risk-based audits. The role reports findings and remediation progress to senior management and the board, administers the ethics and compliance hotline, and conducts or manages investigations. It also selects and implements audit and case-management tools, may oversee co-sourced specialists, and advises on control design for new systems, processes, and acquisitions without assuming control ownership. This is a full-time role with normal core business hours Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. The position is hybrid, with three days at the Melville headquarters office and two days remote. There is no initial supervisory responsibility, though the role is expected to build and lead an internal audit team as the function grows. The position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Issue written reports with rated findings, root-cause analysis, business impact, and practical recommendations; negotiate management action plans with owners and due dates.
  • Maintain remediation tracking, independently validate closure, and report aging of open items.
  • Administer the ethics and compliance hotline, including managing reporting channels, logging and triaging reports, routing matters, tracking disposition, protecting confidentiality and against retaliation, and periodically reporting volume, categories, and trends.
  • Conduct or manage investigations into allegations such as fraud, expense and travel abuse, conflicts of interest, policy violations, and misuse of company assets; plan investigations, conduct interviews, analyze data and documents, and document findings in written reports.
