About The Position

The Internal Audit Department (IAD) Technology and Analytics Internship Program serves multiple internship tracks within Internal Audit. Interns hired through this program may be placed into one of three specialized tracks based on demonstrated skills, interests, and business needs: Technology Audit Intern, Business, Dealer, Asset Management (BDAM) or Professional Practices Group (PPG) Data Analytics Intern. Internal Audit provides independent assurance over Schwab’s governance, risk management, and internal control environment, helping strengthen business processes and support sound decision-making across the organization. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working within a structured, highly regulated environment where evidence-based analysis, critical thinking, and documentation quality are essential. Depending on placement, you may support audit activities involving technology operations, cybersecurity, applications, infrastructure, controls testing, risk assessments, or data analytics initiatives that enhance audit effectiveness through data-driven procedures. Projects may include analyzing information, validating evidence, documenting methodologies and results, performing data analysis, identifying trends or anomalies, supporting audit testing activities, and creating work products that can be reviewed, reused, and relied upon by audit teams. Throughout the internship, you will collaborate with experienced professionals while developing durable skills in problem solving, analytical reasoning, communication, documentation, validation techniques, and stakeholder collaboration. You will gain valuable exposure to how audit, risk, analytics, and technology functions work together to support organizational success and regulatory compliance.
