2027 Summer Internal Audit Internship- Remote
About The Position
Key’s Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program offering meaningful work, feedback and coaching, engaging events, networking, Learning Labs, and an assigned mentor. Interns work on projects that support Key’s business and strategic priorities. KeyBank’s Internal Audit function independently assesses the organization’s processes and risks. It tests the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices, recommends improvements, and monitors remediation. The function is accountable to the KeyCorp Audit Committee and reports to stakeholders including the Board of Directors, executive and business management, and regulators. The Internal Audit Internship lasts approximately 10 weeks during the summer. Interns gain experience on audits, work with experienced auditors, receive coaching and feedback, and engage with leaders across Key’s lines of business. Assignments may involve Lending, Deposits, Payments, Compliance, Capital Markets, Asset Management, and other areas. The internship is performed virtually. Interns located near Buffalo, New York, or Cleveland, Ohio, may have the option to work in an office occasionally. Based on performance, interns may be offered a full-time Rotational Analyst position with Internal Audit after graduation.
Requirements
- Have completed at least three years toward a four-year undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or another business-related field, with anticipated graduation in or before May 2028.
- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25.
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork through past work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
- Have solid analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Work on one or two audits and gain insight into audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Complete work assigned each week based on the current reviews in process on the assigned team and the annual Audit Plan.
- Attend audit-specific training and enterprise-wide Learning Labs.
- Network with other Internal Audit interns and members of Internal Audit’s Senior Leadership Team.
- Present a Spotlight presentation to Internal Audit senior leaders and managers about the internship experience.
