About The Position
The Internal Service Advisor manages repair and reconditioning of Knight Automotive Group’s used-car inventory. This role works directly with the sales, service, lot, technician, shop management, vendor, and parts teams—not outside customers—to keep vehicles inspected, repaired, and retail-ready efficiently. The advisor coordinates work, maintains clear communication, tracks costs and progress, and ensures each vehicle meets quality and safety standards before it goes to the lot.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Professional, courteous, and team-focused demeanor.
- Ability to follow processes, manage multiple work orders, and prioritize effectively.
- Dependable and punctual, with pride in vehicle quality and presentation.
- Comfort operating a range of vehicle types, including cars, trucks, and vans, as needed on the lot.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in automotive service advising, service writing, or dealership operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advisor for internal used-vehicle repair and reconditioning work orders.
- Coordinate with technicians and shop management to prioritize and schedule internal vehicles efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle walkarounds and document required repairs, maintenance, and cosmetic needs.
- Track work order status and communicate progress to the used-car and sales teams.
- Review technician recommendations and obtain repair-cost approvals within established guidelines.
- Ensure reconditioning meets the company’s quality and safety standards before vehicles go to the lot.
- Partner with vendors and parts teams to source materials and manage turnaround times.
- Maintain accurate records of costs, labor, and completed work for each vehicle.
- Identify opportunities to improve reconditioning workflows and reduce time-to-lot.
