About The Position

KCI is seeking a motivated Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience across hardware design and software development. This internship is ideal for students or early-career students looking to apply classroom fundamentals to real projects. Working alongside experienced engineers, the intern will support the full development cycle — from schematic and board design through prototyping, bring-up, and validation, as well as embedded and application software development.

Requirements

Enrolled in a college computer science, information technology, geography/geospatial, mathematics, business, or related program.
No experience required.
Minimum GPA 3.0
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Responsibilities

Assisting with schematic capture and PCB layout under the guidance of senior engineers.
Building, assembling, and reworking prototype boards, including soldering and basic component-level work.
Performing bench testing and debugging using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
Supporting board bring-up, validation, and design verification testing.
Researching and selecting components and helping maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
Developing, debugging, and testing embedded firmware or software in support of hardware bring-up and product features.
Assisting with software projects including writing, reviewing, and documenting code.
Documenting test procedures, results, and design changes.
Assisting with engineering projects and other duties as assigned.
