About The Position

The Medical Assistant Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support patient care and clinic operations. This role involves direct patient interaction, administrative duties, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of clinical areas. The intern will gain experience in patient intake, procedure assistance, and handling of medical supplies and specimens.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR-preferred
  • Travel to all satellite locations required

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtaining vitals
  • Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Setting up and assisting with office procedures
  • Chaperone providers during patient examination
  • Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
  • Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
  • Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
  • Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
  • Ordering clinical supplies
  • Completing FMLA and Disability forms
  • Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
  • Other duties as assigned
