About The Position

Silkline is hiring a Summer 2027 intern to help build its procurement operating system for advanced manufacturing. The company supports manufacturers moving from prototype to full-rate production, helping them keep track of parts and suppliers. This is hands-on product work rather than a sandbox project: interns ship code used by real factories.

The intern will contribute across Silkline’s TypeScript, React, Next.js, and GraphQL stack, taking features from specification through production. The role also involves building integrations with ERP systems, suppliers, and partner APIs; working directly with customers and improving the product based on their feedback; quickly prototyping ideas and helping mature successful ones; and developing software in AWS GovCloud for ITAR compliance.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Expected to graduate in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Must be a U.S. Person for ITAR eligibility.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or a similar programming language, and ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Demonstrated builder’s instinct, such as side projects, hackathon wins, or shipped work.
• Comfort with ambiguity, ability to make decisions independently, and judgment about when to ask for help.
• Clear communication with engineers and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Ship product features end to end, from specification to production, using the company’s software stack.
• Build integrations with ERP systems, supplier systems, and partner APIs.
• Work directly with customers, including buyers, engineers, and supply chain leads, and adapt product work based on their feedback.
• Rapidly prototype ideas, validate their value, and help make successful prototypes production-ready.
• Contribute to software development in AWS GovCloud for ITAR-compliant defense and space customers.
