About The Position

The Goodwin Living Summer Internship program allows college students an opportunity to explore the field of senior living and engage in many of the department that are essential to our organization. Applications deadline is Friday, November 4. Applicants can apply for any of the following departments: Brain Health Thrive Day Program (with residents), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee, Engagement and Outreach (with Human Resources), Health Administration, Human Resources, Life Enrichment (Art Center). This program is seven days during their winter break. Summer Interns will receive a stipend, a resident mentor, and 2-3 professional development workshops with our leadership team.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Must be able to attend Goodwin Living Orientation on Friday December 18, 2026.
  • Must be able to attend Goodwin Living Internship Kickoff and work on the following dates: Monday, December 28, Tuesday, December 29, Wednesday, December 30, Tuesday, January 5, Wednesday, January 6, and Thursday, January 7
  • Must have additional time outside of scheduled work hours to complete two to three workshops with Goodwin Living leaders
  • Ability to relate to and work with team members and their department
  • Creates a welcoming, friendly and adaptable environment for those they serve and work with
  • Be interested to work with a diverse population of older adults
  • Have a can-do mindset and be excited to learn about all we have to offer
  • Proficient with email communications and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Follow all procedures of the host department
  • Engage in projects as defined by the host department
  • Assist in day to day task of the host department
  • Activities, Resident Support and Family Education (Brain Health Thrive Day Program)
  • Foundation, Focus Groups, Annual Calendar Observations, DEIB Cookbook (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee)
  • Employee Engagement, Outreach with Schools and Nonprofits, and Social Media (Engagement and Outreach (Human Resources))
  • Operations, Scheduling, Quality Assessment, Shadow Leadership (Health Administration)
  • Data & File Management, Employee Engagement (Human Resources)
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and hanging class artwork, lead one class in Independent Living (Life Enrichment (Art Center))
