About The Position

Yellowstone Club is hiring a Groomer for its Slope Maintenance department for the Winter 2026/2027 season. The Groomer operates SnowCats and grooming equipment to maintain ski terrain and snow surfaces for Members and guests throughout the winter season. This is a full-time, seasonal position located in Big Sky, Montana.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or job-related coursework.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Ability to sit for 8–10 hours at a time.
• Previous experience operating snow-grooming equipment or heavy equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical or equipment-operation background and experience with diesel engines and hydraulic machines.
• Experience working in a resort or club setting.
• Some skiing or snowboarding ability.

Responsibilities

• Document and report mechanical and safety issues, and complete maintenance logs and checklists.
• Complete pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections.
• Prepare and maintain snow surfaces for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
• Fulfill snow-dozing needs for other departments.
• Follow two-way radio communication procedures when working alone and know the required emergency contact details.
• Operate grooming machinery according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Be aware of underlying pipework and other obstacles to avoid damage.
• Report and communicate snow-maintenance and grooming-machinery issues to management.
• Maintain knowledge of snow-production processes and infrastructure.
• Maintain good working relationships and communicate work instructions with coworkers.
