About The Position

GMB is currently seeking interns for the summer of 2027 to join our Team of Teams! GMB is a full-service firm, and we are looking for interns studying: Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Structural Engineering. We embrace a hybrid work environment, and internships are located in Holland, Grand Rapids, and Royal Oak, Michigan. GMB's purpose is helping build strong communities through educational opportunity. We focus on projects within the educational ecosystem, from Pre-K through Higher Education and spaces in our community that support lifelong learning. Our integrated team gets to work together on a wide range of project types – building design, performance engineering, communications campaigns, branding, enrollment marketing, financial analysis, projections and planning – and we're proud of the impact that our work has on the lives and trajectories of students across the United States. Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's from an accredited university
  • Willingness to learn and effectively communicate with various staff and clients
  • A team player that enjoys a collaborative work environment
  • A passion for learning and growth
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Past internship or volunteer experience in the architectural engineering consulting field
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite, including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A self-starter with great time management skills who thrives in an environment with team-based decision making.
  • An individual who strives to learn and grow, is motivated by their team's success and works hard to ensure it.
  • Someone who enjoys trying new ideas and constantly improving.

Responsibilities

  • Build collaborative, professional working relationships with multidisciplinary design teams in K-12 and Higher Education markets.
  • Learn and develop solutions to technical and design challenges
  • Join a hybrid work environment with the ability to work in the field or one of our learning hubs as needed.
