About The Position

The Wholesale Banking Intern assists Relationship Managers (RMs) with customer marketing materials, market and industry research, presentations, credit applications, credit documentation, and transaction closing and funding. The intern learns commercial lending credit analysis and underwriting, as well as the bank’s credit approval process. The role also supports reporting and loan portfolio analysis and complies with applicable anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist RMs in preparing marketing materials for potential and existing customers.
• Conduct market and industry research related to proposed or reviewed credits.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and credit applications as directed by RMs or the Department Head.
• Learn credit analysis and underwriting for commercial lending.
• Learn the bank’s credit approval process.
• Assist RMs with the credit documentation process.
• Coordinate with other bank departments or units to close and fund transactions.
• Assist with reporting requirements and loan portfolio analysis as determined by the Department Head.
• Comply with anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions-risk controls in accordance with regulatory standards and CNCBI policies.
