About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Molecular Assay Development Intern to join our Research and Development Team located in San Francisco, California! This role is a laboratory position to develop and optimize molecular biology assays focusing on accuracy, reproducibility, and scalability. The San Francisco Research & Development team enables the development of new tests and new launches for germline genetic testing product lines. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program or graduate program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or Biotechnology
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures
  • Eagerness to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts
  • Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Maintains professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular biology assays for detecting genetic variants
  • Execute experiments for Next Generation Sequencing workflows
  • Maintain detailed and organized experiment write-ups
