About The Position

Williams International is looking for a Computer Science Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. The Intern will work closely with our Operations and Development team to support systems development within Product Support. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong problem-solving mindset, proficient web development coding skills, and a keen interest in leveraging an existing code base and new tools to deliver new user interfaces for use in Product Support. The intern will collaborate on projects that impact our business operations and contribute to our growth.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 60 credit hours (must be a junior or senior standing or in a Master’s program).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0, preferred
  • Proficiency in web languages for user interactions and integration with APIs.
  • Familiarity with software source control tools (e.g., Git) for version control and collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently approach and solve complex programming challenges.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during the summer of 2025
  • Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite in Pontiac, Michigan
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of data visualization principles and tools (e.g., Dash and Plotly, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, data querying, and data preprocessing is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the Operations and Development team to implement new software systems.
  • Assist in developing PHP pages and code to facilitate API integrated tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards and visualizations for reporting key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate on projects to increase user efficiency with ERP transactions.
  • Support the maintenance of software source control repositories for Product Support projects.
  • Participate in problem-solving sessions and brainstorming discussions to address business challenges.
  • Conduct independent research to explore new techniques and tools.
  • Communicate findings effectively through presentations and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide analytical insights.
  • Embrace a dynamic learning environment and proactively seek opportunities to expand skillset.
