About The Position

Williams International is seeking a Computer Science Intern for the summer of 2027 to join our Product Support team. This role involves working closely with the Operations and Development team to support systems development. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has proficient web development coding skills. The intern will leverage existing codebases and new tools to create new user interfaces for Product Support, contributing to projects that impact business operations and company growth.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 60 credit hours (must be a junior or senior standing or in a Master’s program).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0
  • Proficiency in web languages for user interactions and integration with APIs.
  • Familiarity with software source control tools (e.g., Git) for version control and collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently approach and solve complex programming challenges.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during the summer of 2027
  • Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite in Pontiac, Michigan
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of data visualization principles and tools (e.g., Dash and Plotly, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, data querying, and data preprocessing is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the Operations and Development team to implement new software systems.
  • Assist in developing PHP pages and code to facilitate API integrated tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards and visualizations for reporting key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate on projects to increase user efficiency with ERP transactions.
  • Support the maintenance of software source control repositories for Product Support projects.
  • Participate in problem-solving sessions and brainstorming discussions to address business challenges.
  • Conduct independent research to explore new techniques and tools.
  • Communicate findings effectively through presentations and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide analytical insights.
  • Embrace a dynamic learning environment and proactively seek opportunities to expand skillset.
