About The Position
The News Internship provides students with practical experience in broadcast and/or digital journalism. Internship opportunities may include reporting, photography, editing, newscast production, web production, and assignment editing. Interns work with producers, reporters, and other newsroom employees and receive feedback on their work. This is an unpaid, supervised internship for college or university students who receive college credit. Students are responsible for completing any forms required by their institution to obtain credit. The student’s academic advisor and institutional guidelines determine the amount of credit and, consequently, the intern’s weekly availability. Station managers oversee the internship, evaluate and monitor progress, and ensure the intern receives appropriate education and training. Interns are responsible for their own transportation.

Responsibilities
- Write stories for critique.
- Monitor news services.
- Rewrite news service copy.
- Research stories.
- Work with producers, reporters, and other newsroom employees and receive feedback.
- Complete any forms required by the college or university to receive internship credit.
- Participate in oversight and progress evaluation by station managers.
