The News Internship provides students interested in broadcast and/or digital journalism with practical experience. Internships may involve reporting, photography, editing, newscast production, web production, assignment editing, or other newsroom work. Interns work with producers, reporters, and other newsroom employees and receive feedback on their efforts. Station managers oversee the internship, evaluate and monitor progress, and help ensure interns receive appropriate education and training. This is an unpaid, supervised internship. Interns must be college or university students and receive college credit. Students are responsible for obtaining and completing any forms required to receive credit. The academic advisor and institution guidelines determine the credit available and, consequently, the intern’s weekly availability. Interns are responsible for their own transportation.
