About The Position

Scout Motors is carrying forward the heritage of an iconic American vehicle, electrifying and digitizing it with American innovation. The brand is rooted in exploration, caretaking, respect, and hard work. The Scout Motors Internship Program offers aspiring professionals hands-on experience in the rugged SUVs and trucks landscape, exposing them to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals, challenging them to apply academic knowledge in real-world scenarios under the mentorship of leaders. This program is designed for current undergraduate students living in the local market. The program is anticipated to run from mid-May to mid-August 2026, approximately 12 weeks. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation, as Scout Motors does not provide relocation or sponsorship. This role is on-site and based in Charlotte, NC, requiring daily attendance at in-person meetings and events.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program for Engineering or Information Technology or a similar field as a Sophomore or higher
  • Must be able to work from Charlotte, NC from mid-May to mid-August 2026.
  • Strong interest in electric vehicles, automotive engineering, and sustainable transportation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, IT Business Partners, Security, etc.) and gather requirements for onboarding new data sets
  • Assist in developing data governance policies such as access control, data classification, standards and best practices for BI repots/visualizations
  • Participate in the enhancement of existing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and the creation of new features to meet business requirements
  • Help implement observability and monitoring solutions for data workflows
  • Maintain clear documentation on data assets, metadata management, data cataloging and governance processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and make improvements to existing data platform processes
