About The Position

Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann. You’ll participate full-time in the 2027 Summer Intern Program and continue with Hussmann part-time during the school year, through May 2028. During the internship, you’ll rotate through the various departments to gain experience and insight into the Hussmann HR team.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relocate, if not local

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Technician Recognition Program, Tech Connect communications platform, union processes and grievances.
  • Support TechX recruitment, Performance Parts employees, and the Branch Human Resources Generalists.
  • Aid in the development of Hussmann’s job architecture and compensation structure.
  • Assist with Workday systems, STD/FMLA, and Wellness Warrior Benefits Program.
  • Gain exposure to Workday, immigration processes, department technical career ladders, Performance Management Process, onboarding and termination, and interview support.
  • Work with the team to complete the Goal Setting process, Performance Management Process, and Employee Development Month.
  • Collaborate on the Employee Development Month, New Employee Onboarding Meetings, and the online training newsletter.
  • Interview, write, and edit articles for the weekly company-wide newsletter.
  • Assist the Branch and corporate TA Partners in sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
  • Support intern recruitment processes and campus engagement events.
  • Partner with the team to update recruiting materials, including the careers website, technician recruitment toolkit, and ads/flyers.
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
  • Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.
  • Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.
  • Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation.
