About The Position

Apex Companies LLC is hiring civil/environmental engineering co-op students to support project teams in its Quincy and Woburn, Massachusetts offices. Students typically assist with design, permitting, and construction administration activities for municipal projects involving areas such as drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation, construction management, site civil engineering, emergency management, environmental infrastructure asset management, and owner’s project management. Work is primarily office-based and may include field work, such as GPS activities and construction observations. The type of work and level of responsibility depend on the student’s aptitude, the time of year, and project schedules. Five positions are listed: four in Quincy (three supporting water/wastewater and one supporting transportation) and one in Woburn (supporting water/wastewater). The role is hourly, with an expected pay range of $26–$28 USD.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Ideally, currently enrolled in or having completed civil engineering or equivalent courses: CIVE 2221 Statics and Solid Mechanics; CIVE 2260 Materials for the Built Environment; CIVE 2261 Lab for CIVE 2260; and CIVE 2334 Environmental Engineering: Principles, Technology, and Sustainability.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD.
Experience with GIS mapping software, including Esri products.
