About The Position

Apex Companies LLC is hiring civil/environmental engineering co-op students to support project teams in design, permitting, and construction administration. Work is primarily office-based, with a possible field-work component. Field activities may include GPS and construction observations. The type of work and level of responsibility depend on the student's aptitude, the time of year, and current project schedules. Five positions are available across Massachusetts offices: four in Quincy (three supporting the water/wastewater group and one supporting the transportation group) and one in Woburn supporting the water/wastewater group. Apex is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm providing services across water, environment, ESG and resiliency, health and safety, compliance and assurance, and infrastructure. The firm serves municipal clients on projects involving drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation, construction management, site civil engineering, emergency management, environmental infrastructure asset management, and owner's project management.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Ideally, candidates are currently enrolled in or have completed CIVE 2221 (Statics and Solid Mechanics), CIVE 2260 (Materials for the Built Environment), CIVE 2261 (Lab for CIVE 2260), and CIVE 2334 (Environmental Engineering: Principles, Technology, and Sustainability).

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD.
Experience with GIS mapping software, including Esri products.
