About The Position
Apex Companies LLC is seeking Civil/Environmental Engineering Co-op students to support municipal engineering projects from its Quincy, Massachusetts and Woburn, Massachusetts offices. The work areas listed include four positions in Quincy—three supporting the water/wastewater group and one supporting the transportation group—and one position in Woburn supporting the water/wastewater group. Co-op students typically support project teams with design, permitting, and construction administration. Work is primarily office-based but may include field work, such as GPS activities and construction observations. The type of work and level of responsibility depend on the student's aptitude, the time of year, and current project schedules. Apex is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm providing services across water, environment, ESG and resiliency, health and safety, compliance and assurance, and infrastructure. Its local municipal projects include drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, traffic and transportation, construction management, site civil engineering, emergency management services, environmental work, infrastructure asset management, and owner's project management.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Currently enrolled in or completed civil engineering or equivalent courses: CIVE 2221 Statics and Solid Mechanics; CIVE 2260 Materials for the Built Environment; CIVE 2261 Lab for CIVE 2260; and CIVE 2334 Environmental Engineering: Principles, Technology, and Sustainability.
- Experience with AutoCAD and GIS mapping software, including Esri products.
Responsibilities
