About The Position

Apex Companies LLC is seeking Civil/Environmental Engineering co-op students to support project teams in its Quincy, Massachusetts and Woburn, Massachusetts offices. The listed work areas include positions supporting water/wastewater and transportation groups. Students typically assist with project design, permitting, and construction administration. Work is primarily office-based and may also include field work, such as GPS work and construction observations. The type of work and level of responsibility depend on the student's aptitude, the time of year, and project schedules. Apex is a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm providing services across water, environment, ESG and resiliency, health and safety, compliance and assurance, and infrastructure. The firm serves municipal clients on projects involving drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, traffic and transportation, construction management, site civil engineering, emergency management services, environmental services, infrastructure asset management, and owner's project management.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Ideally, currently enrolled in or having completed civil engineering or equivalent courses in Statics and Solid Mechanics; Materials for the Built Environment and its lab; and Environmental Engineering: Principles, Technology, and Sustainability.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD.
Experience with GIS mapping software, including Esri products.
