About The Position

This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2027. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028. The Energy Transfer Terminal Engineering group supports the Terminal Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management groups at the Northeast Terminal facilities (natural gas liquids processing & refined products storage). Terminal operations include dehydration, fractionation, chilling, refrigerated storage, atmospheric storage, underground storage caverns, marine operations, and pipeline operations.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to shift established priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound organizational skills.
  • Competent with personal computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate student in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering preferred (Petroleum Engineering acceptable).
  • Previous summer work experience.
  • College laboratory experience.
  • Familiarity with process equipment (pumps, valves, compressors, process control systems).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Terminal Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management groups at the Northeast Terminal facilities.
  • Gain experience in natural gas liquids processing and refined products storage.
  • Learn about terminal operations including dehydration, fractionation, chilling, refrigerated storage, atmospheric storage, underground storage caverns, marine operations, and pipeline operations.
  • Perform calculations and diagnose problems.
  • Identify multiple alternatives and/or recommendations for a given problem.
  • Facilitate the implementation of solutions.
  • Balance multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Prioritize tasks and shift established priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Function effectively in a team environment.
