About The Position

Philips is hiring an intern or co-op student for a paid, 3–6 month opportunity at its Latham, New York site. The preferred start is January 2027 for a spring co-op; qualified candidates seeking a Summer 2027 internship may also be considered. The role provides hands-on experience supporting the design, manufacture, validation, and continuous improvement of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) magnet systems. The intern/co-op supports mechanical engineering and program activities for MRI magnet manufacturing, with assignments focused on product and process improvements that strengthen safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Industrialization Engineering, Quality, Operations, Research and Development, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to investigate issues and implement practical solutions. The position assists with engineering documentation and execution, including equipment or tooling requirements, process flow updates, drawing reviews, failure mode and effects analyses, validation deliverables, data collection, and technical reports. It also involves hands-on shop-floor activities, such as observing manufacturing processes, supporting trials, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results under the guidance of experienced engineers. This is an onsite role requiring full-time presence at the Philips Latham, New York facility.
