About The Position

Marathon Petroleum is hiring an Electrical Engineering intern/co-op for refining assignments. Assignments may involve Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) project engineering, reliability, or process control and technical services. E&I project work includes supporting real-world refinery projects and developing project-management skills in scope alignment, cost and schedule development, teamwork, and engineering phases. Reliability work includes troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical issues, analyzing equipment failures, developing solutions, preparing Project Request Forms, and learning equipment maintenance strategies. Interns may also use electrical analysis software for coordination and Arc Flash studies and learn how Safety Instrumented Systems are applied. Process control assignments support refinery and product-movement control systems used for real-time process control and data acquisition. Work may include troubleshooting power supplies, control-system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement, communication-network installation and troubleshooting, and monitoring system performance metrics.
