Intern - Civil/Structural Engineer - Nuclear Design Team
About The Position
ENERCON is hiring a civil/structural engineering intern for its Nuclear Design Group. The group provides engineering, licensing, and environmental services for nuclear power plants, including plant modifications, safety analysis, licensing renewals, and advanced reactor support. Interns contribute to energy and infrastructure projects in a collaborative environment and gain industry experience and opportunities for professional growth. The position is associated with one of the listed offices: Kennesaw, Georgia; Fort Worth, Texas; Naperville or Chicago, Illinois; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; San Luis Obispo, California; or Kennewick, Washington. The posting indicates an onsite role. The expected hourly compensation range is $24.00–$30.00. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET-accredited school in civil engineering with a structural focus, structural engineering, or another listed preferred major.
- Preferred graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Available to start on an agreed-upon date between May 2027 and June 2027.
- A solid working foundation in core concepts of the major.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to contribute individually and work effectively in teams.
- Ability to problem solve effectively.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders at client sites, navigate client sites for walkdowns, and work outside.
- Ability and willingness to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings.
- Complete pre-interview assessments.
- Submit a college transcript if under one year of post-graduation experience.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record checks.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
