Samsung Research America’s Advanced Intelligence Lab is developing a unified voice-assistant experience across Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watch, TVs, Family Hub, and other smart-home and IoT devices. The lab applies advanced artificial intelligence to make Bixby more intuitive, faster, seamless, powerful, and useful across product categories. Bixby is an intelligent personal assistant built into Samsung flagship devices and wearables. Its Agentic AI framework uses natural-language understanding to interpret users’ intentions and provide assistance, answer questions, and perform tasks such as making calls, sending messages, setting meetings and alarms, opening apps, providing directions, and finding information about businesses. Samsung’s Bixby team is seeking self-driven software engineering interns to contribute to applied research and on-device Agentic AI solutions. Interns will work with engineers to develop and maintain software products, build next-generation Agentic AI services, and gain experience in a fast-paced environment. The work includes developing agents and tools, creating intelligent systems and hybrid reasoning models, building web-intelligence capabilities, developing and tuning models for on-device and edge computation, and improving model efficiency and performance. Interns will primarily use Python and/or Java and contribute to production software, prototypes, and product concepts. The position is performed in an office setting. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The hourly pay range is $36–$63, with individual rates varying according to factors including role function, location, skills, experience, education, and training. The compensation package includes annual bonus eligibility and benefits. Applicants must not disclose trade secrets belonging to current or former employers during the application or recruitment process.
