About The Position
Bloomsbury is seeking a Fall Editorial Intern for its Adult Trade team. The intern will assist our close-knit team of editors in the publication of both literary/upmarket fiction and general nonfiction. Please note that interns will not be working with Sarah J. Maas titles nor YA/Children’s books. Bloomsbury is committed to creating an inclusive environment and we encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in contemporary literature and publishing
- Detail-oriented
- Able to manage their own time
- Highly organized
- Must reside in the NY tri-state area
- Able to work in person at our midtown Manhattan office 2 days per week
Nice To Haves
- No prior publishing experience is required
Responsibilities
- Promptly reading, evaluating, and discussing manuscripts and proposals (both fiction and nonfiction)
- Attending editorial meetings, season launches, check-ins, and other meetings as necessary
- Leading our literary award submission process
- Conducting research and contributing to metadata
- Assisting, as needed, with mailings, copyright processes, and drafting of materials
- Other duties as assigned
Benefits
- Wage: $18.00/hr
