About The Position

Bloomsbury is seeking a Fall Editorial Intern for its Adult Trade team. The intern will assist our close-knit team of editors in the publication of both literary/upmarket fiction and general nonfiction. Please note that interns will not be working with Sarah J. Maas titles nor YA/Children’s books. Bloomsbury is committed to creating an inclusive environment and we encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. No prior publishing experience is required, though a demonstrated interest in the published process is key.

  • Demonstrable interest in contemporary literature and publishing

Responsibilities

  • Promptly reading, evaluating, and discussing manuscripts and proposals (both fiction and nonfiction)
  • Attending editorial meetings, season launches, check-ins, and other meetings as necessary
  • Leading our literary award submission process
  • Conducting research and contributing to metadata
  • Assisting, as needed, with mailings, copyright processes, and drafting of materials
  • Other duties as assigned
