About The Position

The Intermodal Internship is a part-time position in the Supply Chain department, based in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Under close supervision, the intern assists with providing customers transportation and logistics services. The internship provides exposure to transportation management and participation in daily operational tasks. Candidates must be enrolled and in good standing in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited community college, college, or university, and be able to work 20–25 hours per week during the school semester. The position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited community college, college, or university.
• Able to work 20–25 hours per week during the school semester.
• GED or high school education required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior or senior level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks, including freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, Department of Transportation compliance, driver payroll, Customer Value Delivery, logistics management and analysis, driver supervision, profit-and-loss management, and maintenance coordination.
• Develop an understanding of industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by the customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
