About The Position

Under close supervision, the Intermodal Intern assists customers with transportation and logistics services. The intern gains exposure to transportation management principles and participates in day-to-day operational work during the school semester. The position requires 20–25 hours of work per week. It is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college, or university.
• Able to work 20–25 hours per week during the school semester.
• GED or high school education required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior- or senior-level student preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks, including freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, Department of Transportation compliance, driver payroll, Customer Value Delivery, logistics management and analysis, driver supervision, profit-and-loss management, and maintenance coordination.
• Learn about industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by the customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
