About The Position

The company is hiring Class A CDL truck drivers for a local intermodal position based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Drivers transport freight between rail yards and customer locations within approximately 250 miles of Harrisburg, typically completing about 2–5 loads and 1,565 miles per week. The role includes daily home time, early morning starts between 12:01 AM and 3:00 AM, and required weekend work. Available schedules are Thursday–Monday, Friday–Tuesday, and Wednesday–Sunday; drivers must be flexible with assigned schedules and start times. Shift preferences may become available based on seniority. Average weekly earnings are estimated at $1,769–$1,904, with estimated annual earnings of $92,000–$99,000. Compensation includes mileage pay, stop pay, drop-and-hook pay, holiday pay, and additional activity-based pay. An eligible driver may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, subject to eligibility and retention requirements. Actual earnings depend on mileage, loads, activity-based pay, and assigned schedules. Drivers use company-owned day-cab tractors and 53-foot box trailers with manual and automatic transmissions. The trucks average approximately two years old and are operated on a slip-seat basis. Trucks remain at the terminal during time off. The position requires a valid Class A CDL, at least three months of solo tractor-trailer driving experience, residence within approximately 40 miles of Harrisburg, and a HazMat endorsement within 60 days of hire. HazMat endorsement expenses may be reimbursed for qualifying drivers. Applicants must be comfortable with early starts, weekend work, slip-seat equipment, and the account's non-smoking requirement, and must meet applicable DOT and company safety qualifications. SAP drivers are not eligible. Requirements

Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
Have at least 3 months of solo tractor-trailer driving experience.
Reside within approximately 40 miles of Harrisburg, PA 17111.
Obtain a HazMat endorsement within 60 days of hire; it is not required at the time of application.
Be comfortable with early morning shifts and weekend work.
Be willing to operate slip-seat equipment.
Be able to operate assigned manual or automatic equipment, consistent with CDL restrictions.
Comply with the account's non-smoking requirement.
Meet applicable DOT and company safety qualifications.
SAP drivers are not eligible.

Responsibilities

Transport intermodal freight between rail yards and customer locations within approximately 250 miles of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Complete approximately 2–5 loads per day.
Perform drop-and-hook trailer movements.
Pick up and deliver freight at rail terminals.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Maintain accurate transportation and delivery records.
Communicate delays, equipment concerns, and scheduling updates.
Follow applicable DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
