About The Position
Dev.Pro is hiring contractors in Latin America for its global team of IT professionals. The company is a US-based outsourced software development company operating remotely across more than 55 countries on five continents. The Intermediate Test Engineer will join a new project in the Point-of-Sale domain and work in a hybrid QA environment. The role focuses primarily on manual testing of backend and API-based systems, while also supporting test automation using Java-based tools. The engineer will collaborate with developers and stakeholders in an Agile team to help ensure the quality and reliability of the Point-of-Sale solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of manual testing experience, with strong backend and API testing skills.
- Experience designing, executing, and maintaining test cases and test plans.
- Solid understanding of test design techniques and requirements analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Java-based test automation using Java, Rest Assured, JUnit, and Maven in Spring-based applications.
- Strong defect investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working in Agile teams in hybrid manual and automation environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with developers and stakeholders.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Proactive and delivery-focused mindset.
- Upper-Intermediate English level.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Playwright (Java) or Selenium.
- Experience with Cucumber for legacy API tests.
- Exposure to AWS environments.
- Software development background.
- Experience in the Point-of-Sale (POS) domain.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute manual test cases for backend and API functionality.
- Perform API testing for backend services and integrations.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using Java-based test automation frameworks.
- Investigate defects and perform root cause analysis with developers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and support sprint delivery activities.
- Collaborate with developers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date test documentation.
