About The Position

At FSB Architects + Engineers, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, we design aviation environments that move people efficiently while creating a strong sense of place. From passenger terminals and concourses to hangars, and other airport facilities, our multidisciplinary teams bring architecture, interior design, and engineering together to create spaces that are functional, intuitive, durable, and welcoming. We’re seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Aviation Studio in Denver, CO. This role will contribute to the design and delivery of aviation projects while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong design instincts, technical knowledge, and an understanding of how materials, space planning, passenger experience, and operational requirements come together in complex environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 3+ years of professional interior design experience required.
  • Proficiency in Revit required.
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, interior construction, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong design, space planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aviation design projects, including airport, airline, terminal, hangar, maintenance, support facility, or related aviation infrastructure projects, is preferred.
  • NCIDQ certification or professional licensure preferred, or actively working toward certification.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape, or other design and visualization tools preferred.
  • Experience participating in client presentations and project coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to interior design efforts for aviation projects through all phases of design and documentation.
  • Develop design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, material selections, and furniture solutions aligned with client goals and project requirements.
  • Translate design concepts into functional, durable environments that support passenger experience, airport operations, and long-term facility needs.
  • Prepare and coordinate interior design drawings, specifications, details, schedules, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other disciplines to integrate interior design with building systems and overall project design.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Research and select materials, finishes, furnishings, and products based on aesthetics, performance, maintenance, sustainability, and budget.
  • Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination of design-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to developing designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
