About The Position

The Interim Support Lead supports store leadership and daily operations at Five Below. The role helps ensure associates provide excellent customer service, supports receiving and stocking merchandise, assists with training and onboarding, and helps drive sales while controlling expenses. The lead may serve as Manager on Duty and occasionally manage store opening or closing procedures. The position also includes store maintenance and other responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager based on business needs. This is a part-time, hourly position starting at $11.50.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 1 year of management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Creative thinking.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts and travel as required.
Ability to identify and discern email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Ability to frequently operate a cash register, computer, handheld device, phone, walkie, and mobile devices.
Ability to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet.
Ability to frequently climb and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
Ability to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
Ability to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

Ensure crew members provide excellent customer service through personal contact with customers.
Train crew members on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience and help ensure guests receive fast, friendly checkout.
Help oversee daily activities of store associates and ensure they perform duties effectively and provide excellent customer service.
Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for efficient placement on the sales floor.
Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
Occasionally manage store opening or closing, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing for smooth operations.
Support associate onboarding and ongoing training in store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
Drive store sales and control expenses by identifying opportunities to improve merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
Perform additional responsibilities as determined by the Store Manager based on store needs.
