The church is structured as an LLC, operates as a nonprofit entity, and consolidates with Collegiate entities for financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in financial and account management, particularly in nonprofit, faith-based, or startup environments.
  • Experience using the Oracle NetSuite platform.
  • Exceptional administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative approach that balances brainstorming with others, responsibilities to the overall function of the church, and independent work.
  • Flexibility and creative problem-solving ability, including a focus on identifying an appropriate permanent solution.
  • Appreciation of faith and the role faith-based organizations play in civic society, neighborhoods, and the broader community.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and administer accounts receivable in Oracle NetSuite; integrate NetSuite with online donation, CRM, and banking platforms.
  • Ensure financial records and statements comply with US GAAP.
  • Create monthly reporting automations, including budget-to-actual reporting, cash-on-hand reporting, and full-year forecasting, for review by the Senior Minister and West End’s Board.
  • Reconcile credit card statements, employee reimbursements, and program expenses.
  • Work with the Senior Minister to track the annual budget and maintain real-time awareness of budget status.
  • Generate checks, ACH batch payments, and other electronic payments, and ensure payments reach the intended recipients.
  • Provide documentation, receipts, and schedules requested by the Director of Finance, the Collegiate Church’s Audit Committee, or the Senior Minister.
  • Create and implement local nonprofit accounting best practices and ensure compliance with Central Office policies.
  • Work with the Senior Minister and West End’s Board Treasurer to advise on and develop a permanent financial workflow solution for after July 1, 2027.
  • Build an in-person relationship with the local bank branch team, make deposits, and conduct financial affairs with the church’s banks as needed.
  • Monitor endowment assets under management and work with fund managers and the Treasurer to monitor gains, losses, and quarterly withdrawals.
  • Work with the CHRO to support compliance in payroll and administrative matters, particularly for part-time employees, freelance contractors, and artists.
  • Contribute to a warm, welcoming, collaborative church culture centered on helping individuals and the community thrive.
