Interim Director of Pharmacy – Behavioral Health
About The Position
Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for a temporary contract in an established inpatient behavioral health setting in San Antonio, Texas. The contract runs November 9–16, 2026, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM. Onsite training is available. The role offers competitive hourly compensation, a defined coverage schedule, and the opportunity to support inpatient pharmacy operations. The pharmacist will review and verify medication orders, support medication distribution, use HCS and Omnicell systems, collaborate with clinical staff on safe medication management, and maintain regulatory compliance and pharmacy standards. The role also requires availability for after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Active Texas Pharmacist license required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to fulfill after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities
Nice To Haves
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Omnicell experience preferred; training is available
