Interim Director of Nursing Skilled Nursing Facility
About The Position
This job description outlines the essential functions of the Interim Director of Nursing role within a Skilled Nursing Facility. The position is responsible for overseeing Skilled Nursing Services in compliance with California state regulations (Title 22). The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Skilled Nursing Services to ensure the highest quality of care. This includes developing and maintaining nursing policy and procedure manuals, creating job descriptions for nursing staff, scheduling patient rounds, coordinating nursing services with other departments, and recommending staffing levels and development. The role requires full understanding and active participation in the Organization's Mission, Core Values, and strategic plan.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an RN.
- Three (3) years’ experience as a supervisor or management level responsibility.
- Current California RN License.
- Current BLS and ACLS card.
- Has annual physical and TB test as required.
- Participates in in-services and competencies as required.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis.

- Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve the patient population (ages 18 and older).
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, support, and participation in Hospital QAPI meetings.
- Maintains a safe environment through strict enforcement of Infection Control policies and monitoring of housekeeping practices.
- Implements Coalinga Regional Medical Center Skilled Nursing standards related to Title 22, California Code of Regulations SS 70217 Nursing Service Staff.
- Implements core curriculum and competency validation through education.
- Meets regulatory requirements for documentation.
- Implements core programs.
- Implements significant corporate clinical initiatives: VAP and CVS line bundles, hourly bundle and others as directed by Coalinga Regional Medical Center.
- Follows and administers HR policies and consults with HRM as needed.
