Interim Director of Nursing Services
About The Position
Diversicare is seeking an Interim Director of Nursing (RN) to lead the nursing department at its Sedgwick, Kansas facility. The Director of Nursing shapes the quality of care and life for residents, advances the nursing department, and contributes to the facility’s mission. The role champions a values-driven workplace culture centered on trust, respect, customer focus, compassion, diplomacy, appreciation, and strong communication. The Director provides administrative leadership, manages departmental resources, develops nursing staff, and evaluates services to improve resident care and well-being. A current Registered Nurse license and demonstrated managerial and administrative ability are required. Long-term care or geriatric experience is preferred, along with at least two years of supervisory experience.
Requirements
- Hold a current Registered Nurse license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrate managerial and administrative ability.
- Have at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Be proficient in organizing and planning programs, assigning personnel, and evaluating reports and data.

Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility in the Administrator’s absence.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain best practices.
- Assist in preparing and administering the department budget to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Recruit, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Analyze and evaluate nursing services to enhance resident care.
- Develop systems that promote resident well-being and functional independence.
- Organize and plan programs, assign personnel, and evaluate reports and data to support quality improvement initiatives.
