Interactive Project Manager (Contract)

About The Position

SoFi’s in-house creative studio is seeking an experienced, highly organized Senior Interactive Project Manager to support a comprehensive website redesign focused on improving user experience, optimizing performance, and aligning the site with product strategy. The role serves as a primary liaison among marketing creative and web teams, product marketers, product design, and engineering, helping ensure the company’s digital presence meets strategic goals while maintaining technical integrity. The project manager oversees interactive work across discovery, design, development, and deployment. Initiatives include a large-scale website redesign, implementation of scalable Figma design systems, interactive content such as animations and dynamic UI components, technical integrations involving APIs, CMS customizations and marketing technology, and delivery across in-app, mobile-responsive, and desktop experiences. The role reports to the Director of Project Management.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years managing high-stakes interactive, digital, or web development projects.
Strong working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and web architecture, with the ability to inspect code and understand how front-end frameworks affect site performance.
Expert proficiency with project management tools such as Jira or Workfront.
In-depth familiarity with Figma as the source of truth for design assets.
Deep understanding of CMS ecosystems such as WordPress, Contentful, or Webflow, including custom themes, plugin architecture, and content modeling.
Direct experience managing projects involving animation tools such as Lottie or Rive and integrations of third-party APIs or AI-driven tools such as Claude Code.
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project milestones for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

PMP, CSM, or relevant Agile certification.
Basic JavaScript knowledge or experience with modern front-end libraries.
Experience in a fast-paced agency or fintech environment.
Familiarity with web ADA/accessibility compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines, and develop project plans accounting for technical dependencies and resource allocation.
Oversee design and development phases, ensuring code quality meets standards and front-end implementation aligns with design intent.
Act as a liaison among web design, web strategy, engineering, product marketing, and product teams; use WordPress and HTML/CSS knowledge to troubleshoot layouts, audit implementation, and streamline developer handoffs.
Coordinate cross-functional partners, organize workflows, prioritize backlogs, and resolve blockers.
Provide executive leadership with status updates on project health, technical challenges, and roadmap dependencies.
Assist with quality assurance as required.
Manage the website redesign from discovery through deployment.
Project-manage implementation of templatized Figma design systems to support consistency and scalability.
Coordinate delivery of complex front-end elements, including animations and dynamic UI components.
Support implementation of API connections, CMS customizations, and marketing technology tools.
Ensure seamless experiences across in-app environments, mobile-responsive layouts, and desktop web.
