About The Position
KVC Health Systems is seeking an Intensive In-Home Skill Builder to support children and families through direct intervention and clinical development. The role provides intensive Family Preservation and Family Reunification services in clients’ homes, helping families build self-sufficiency and safety. It may also be offered as a Job Rotation for candidates pursuing advanced clinical licensure, combining skill-building and clinical work under professional supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Family Studies, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field.
- At least two years of successful experience in the child welfare system or working with at-risk youth.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- For Job Rotation candidates: enrollment in a Master’s-level Counseling or Social Work program with coursework completed.
- Resilience, empathy, a non-judgmental approach under pressure, coachability, and strong critical-thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Build rapport with families and implement tailored intervention designs to support child safety and permanency.
- Facilitate the Strengthening Families Program and Safe & Connected models to help keep families together or reunify children in foster care with their families.
- Provide crisis management support through a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Advocate for youth and families in court hearings and community meetings.
- Collaborate with therapists and community partners to develop service plans rooted in family strengths and values.
