The Intelligence Director assists with the daily functions of the Sheriff’s Office by engaging command staff, elected officials, and relevant agency heads in the analysis and dissemination of intelligence products based on information obtained from law enforcement agencies, intelligence sources, and open reporting. The incumbent provides oversight to intelligence personnel and facilitates integrated intelligence-sharing capabilities to communicate accurate, timely, and actionable information that informs local, regional, and national crime trends and supports employee and facility security, criminal investigations, and prosecution. The position establishes intelligence collection priorities based on emerging crime trends, threats, operational needs, and community concerns. The Intelligence Director oversees the intelligence cycle from planning and collection through analysis, dissemination, and evaluation. The position also evaluates and advises on live, online, and emerging threats to elected officials, government entities, and high-profile events.
