This position performs responsible and complex and/or lead administrative support work performed for various departments and offices within Pierce County. An employee in this classification is responsible for performing specialized administrative or program support functions requiring extensive knowledge of County and departmental policies and procedures. This rewarding and vital support position performs varied administrative tasks that impact the day-to-day operations of the department, criminal justice system and the citizens of Pierce County. A successful candidate will join the team with the ability to exercise good judgement, collaborate, and positively engage with the citizens of Pierce County. This person will develop on the job skills to prioritize competing assignments while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. A willingness to learn and a desire to help and support your co-workers will be the key to your success. You will gain a broad knowledge of the department and may have an opportunity to transfer to another unit within the Office. Additionally, you will receive on-the-job training from administrative staff and have access to LinkedIn Learning to further your growth as an administrative professional. This position may involve exposure to the inmate population in our maximum-security correctional facility or review of confidential and sensitive information, including crime scene photographs, videos and/or reports.
