About The Position

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated Intelligence Analyst to conduct intelligence analysis related to the work of the Gaming Enforcement Division within the Criminal Bureau. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, and administrative and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police, and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes pursuant to G.L. c. 12, § 11M.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience as an Intelligence Analyst in the law enforcement, military, or intelligence communities.
Demonstrated interest and understanding of Gaming enforcement.
Experience with review and analysis of raw data and digital forensic software reports, CSLI/ping information, and/or video and audio recording content and metadata.
Experience in synthesizing and interpreting data, preparing and presenting reports, developing pattern analysis, and conducting multi-target analysis utilizing multiple data sets simultaneously.
Solid command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Google Earth.
Advanced Excel skills and prior experience with statistical software, geolocation/mapping tools, and law enforcement case management platforms.
Expertise in formatting and design of reports, link charts, graphs, and tables.
Familiarity with social media data exploitation and comfort with open-source research.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight with attention to detail.
Ability to interact with staff at all levels while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in an interagency environment with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence professionals.
Effective organizational, problem-solving, writing, and communication skills.
Willingness to attend trainings as deemed necessary by Division leadership.

Responsibilities

Developing and analyzing tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence to support ongoing investigations and prosecutions related to expanded gaming in the Commonwealth, including gaming-related financial crime, organized crime, corruption, and money laundering.
Conducting and managing complex research into illegal gambling organizations to uncover their criminal activities.
Analyzing raw telephone-related data, such as subscriber and call detail records and evaluation of phone calls, email activity, text messages, extracted smartphone data and metadata.
Analyzing GPS and other location data.
Analyzing social media activity.
Analyzing illegal gambling website logs.
Proactively collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data obtained either through subpoena or other sources, and communicating patterns to the investigative team.
Developing pattern and multi-target analysis derived from multiple data sets.
Coordinating multi-agency collaboration between attorneys, investigators, and law enforcement partners.
Providing project management and intelligence analysis for all partners, including meeting logistics, inter-agency communications, and data presentations in order to identify trends in criminal activity occurring inside and outside the casinos, and cultivate possible leads or further direction for deeper investigation into criminal activity.
