About The Position

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Integration Services Coordinator provides an inclusive child care system that promotes positive and healthy environments for all children in keeping with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), municipal guidelines and the policies and procedures of Family Day.

Requirements

  • Resource Teacher Certificate
  • E.C.E. Diploma/Degree or equivalent
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in licensed child care (including home child care)
  • Experience and knowledge of adult education and training within a multicultural environment
  • Ability to provide consultation services to various professionals in the community
  • Well-developed skills in areas such as leadership, communication, organization, assessment, confidentiality, commitment and accountability, initiative and work independently
  • Work collaboratively as a team member within the agency and broader community
  • Social and multicultural sensitivity
  • Car required together with current license and vehicle liability insurance
  • Medical required – including TB (two stages) 6 months current to hiring date
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check 6 months current to hiring date
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR, level C

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation to licensed child care programs in order to enhance their ability to integrate children with special needs into their programs
  • Establish supportive and professional relationships with early learning staff of your assigned child care agencies
  • Develop and implement training to early learning staff and providers on topics related to special needs
  • Process all enhanced provider rate requests, child care support funding applications
  • Provide support to individual children within child care settings through observation, assessment, programming, and referral
  • Ensure necessary service coordination for families
  • Discuss children’s progress/behaviour/health with parents/designated family
  • Work collaboratively with other agency partners
  • Provide the consistent support needed so that every child can take part in the child care program of his or her families choice.
  • Participate with community based and inter-agency organizations to identify gaps in service, to enhance and coordinate service delivery, to promote the healthy development of children and their families
  • Work with representatives from the community, MCSS, the City of Toronto – Children’s Services, and other groups or individuals regarding children and their families
  • Maintain administrative requirements in accordance with agency policies
  • Participate in supervision, staff, and agency meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
