About The Position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a CVN Maintenance Support Center (MSC) Logistics Support 4 candidate to join the Maintenance Support Center team at Newport News Shipbuilding. The role supports logistics functions during a ship’s refueling complex overhaul (RCOH), assisting Ships Force personnel with the day-to-day operation of the MSC and on-the-job training as needed. The candidate will work with technical manuals and engineering drawings to conduct logistic technical evaluations of equipment and materials. The position involves assessing logistics support for validated components, supporting maintenance and supply systems, helping process validation data and ILS packages, and reviewing configuration changes for their effects on logistics deployment and product life-cycle support. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and Common Access Card (CAC), and is subject to pre-employment background investigation and drug screening. The position is full-time, hourly, and non-exempt, with an anticipated salary range of $51,396.00 to $58,676.80.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of additional education and/or related experience.
PC literacy in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Adequate command of English to communicate technical concepts effectively and express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must complete a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII and/or client requirements.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of CVN Maintenance Support Center (MSC) operations.
Expertise in the operation, maintenance, or design of Naval Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic systems.
In-depth knowledge of technical manuals and engineering drawings, with the ability to perform logistic technical evaluations of equipment and materials shown in them.
Experience working in a carrier MSC setting and familiarity with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
Experience with Organizational Maintenance Management System-New Generation (OMMS-NG), Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP), and Automatic Technical Information System (ATIS).
Experience with Model Based Product Support (MBPS).
Experience with Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA).
Experience as a shipboard 3M Coordinator.
Experience with parts screening databases LogiQuest and Haystack.
Experience with TSLS.

Responsibilities

Support logistics functions and assist Ships Force personnel with the day-to-day operation and on-the-job training of the Maintenance Support Center during a ship’s refueling complex overhaul (RCOH).
Modify maintenance records, such as repair standards, for more complex equipment or components.
Analyze Validation Worksheets (VW) to identify logistics support deficiencies that require correction.
Assist the MSC in determining whether proper logistic support is available for validated components, using Haystack (IHS) for part identification.
Assist with Relational Supply (RSUPPLY) and Organizational Maintenance Management System - Next Generation (OMMS-NG) operation.
Assist the MSC with communications to resolve problems and gather data for processing OMMS-NG database corrections.
Assist with processing and submitting validation data to the Configuration Data Manager (CDM).
Track and process Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) packages received by the MSC.
Review configuration changes to evaluate their impact on logistics deployment.
Document equipment, component, and parts conditions, and identify supporting logistics documentation, including drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards, for product life-cycle support.
