About The Position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a CVN Maintenance Support Center (MSC) Logistics Support 4 candidate to join the Maintenance Support Center team at Newport News Shipbuilding. The role supports logistics operations during a ship’s refueling complex overhaul (RCOH), including assisting Ships Force personnel with day-to-day MSC operations and on-the-job training. The candidate uses technical manuals and engineering drawings to conduct logistic technical evaluations of equipment and materials. The position involves modifying maintenance records, reviewing validation worksheets and configuration changes, identifying logistics support deficiencies, and helping process validation data and Integrated Logistics Support packages. The candidate also assists with Haystack, Relational Supply, and OMMS-NG operations, resolves database-correction issues, and identifies documentation needed to support product life cycles. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and Common Access Card.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and six years of additional education and/or related experience.
PC literacy in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Adequate command of English to communicate technical concepts effectively and express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
U.S. citizenship.
Subject to pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII and/or client requirements.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the CVN Maintenance Support Center.
Expertise in the operation, maintenance, or design of Naval Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic systems.
In-depth knowledge of technical manuals and engineering drawings and ability to perform logistic technical evaluations of equipment and material presented in them.
Experience working in a carrier MSC setting and familiarity with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
Experience with OMMS-NG, Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP), and Automatic Technical Information System (ATIS).
Experience with Model Based Product Support (MBPS).
Experience with Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA).
Experience as a shipboard 3M Coordinator.
Experience with parts-screening databases LogiQuest and Haystack.
Experience with TSLS.

Responsibilities

Support the logistics function and assist Ships Force personnel with day-to-day operation and on-the-job training of the Maintenance Support Center during a ship’s refueling complex overhaul.
Modify maintenance records, such as repair standards, for more complex equipment or components.
Analyze Validation Worksheets to identify logistics support deficiencies requiring correction.
Assist the MSC in determining whether proper logistic support is available for validated components, using Haystack (IHS) for part identification.
Assist with Relational Supply (RSUPPLY) and Organizational Maintenance Management System - Next Generation (OMMS-NG) operation.
Communicate with the MSC to resolve problems and gather data for processing OMMS-NG database corrections.
Assist with processing and submission of validation data to the Configuration Data Manager (CDM).
Assist with tracking and processing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) packages.
Review configuration changes to evaluate their impact on logistics deployment.
Document equipment, component, and parts conditions, and identify logistics support documentation—including drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards—needed to support the product life cycle.
